We provide detailed, clearly written estimates for proposed electrical work. Some projects may require an on-site assessment prior to providing an estimate in order to accurately understand the scope and recommend the best solution.

Is a deposit required?

For approved estimates over $1,000, a 30% deposit is required to secure your place on the schedule. Deposit and payment details will be clearly outlined in your estimate.

How do you handle dust protection and cleanup?

Accepted Answer

We take care to minimize dust and disruption while working inside your home or business. Depending on the task, we use tools and methods such as debris-catching domes when drilling into ceilings and vacuums when cutting into drywall.

For larger or more invasive projects, additional dust protection measures may be recommended and included in the scope of work. For smaller jobs, full dust barriers are not always necessary but can be provided upon request. If additional dust protection is important to you, please let us know during the estimate process so it can be assessed and included in your quote. Requests for additional dust protection on smaller projects may result in an added cost.

Do you handle electrical permits and inspections?

Yes. When permits are required, RGD Electric will coordinate the permitting and inspection process as part of the project scope.

If an inspection requires access to the interior of the home, the homeowner will need to be present to allow the inspector to view the work. Inspectors typically coordinate arrival directly with the homeowner and provide an approximate 30-minute notice prior to arrival.

To get started, submit a request using the estimate request form on our website. If needed, an appointment will be scheduled to review your space, discuss your needs, and assess the scope of work. You’ll then receive a thorough written estimate outlining the proposed work and associated line items.

Who will be doing the work?

RGD Electric is owner-operated. Work is performed or overseen by licensed electrical contractor Renee Gaudet, ensuring accountability, professionalism, and consistent quality on every project.

How do you handle changes during the project?

If changes to the original scope of work are requested or recommended, they will be discussed and approved before any additional work is performed. Any adjustments will be documented to ensure clarity and alignment.

Can you help with custom lighting design?

Yes. RGD Electric specializes in thoughtful lighting layouts and custom electrical solutions tailored to your space, preferences, and how you use your home or business. Lighting options and placement are typically discussed during the estimate or on-site appointment, and many decisions can be agreed upon at that time.

For projects requiring more in-depth design work—such as multiple layout iterations, detailed lighting plans, or coordination beyond standard recommendations—additional design services may be billed separately. In those cases, you may also choose to work with an interior designer or lighting designer, and we’re happy to coordinate with or recommend a designer if needed.

Do you offer emergency electrical services?

At this time, we do not offer after-hours emergency electrical services. However, if availability allows, we may be able to respond to same-day requests during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Scheduling availability varies based on project scope and current workload. Estimated timelines and availability will be discussed during the estimate process.

Do you install EV chargers that qualify for Duke Energy rebates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. RGD Electric installs EV chargers and can provide the required documentation for customers to submit as part of Duke Energy’s EV charger rebate or incentive programs.

Customers are not required to use a Duke Energy–selected electrician. You may choose any licensed and insured electrical contractor for your installation. RGD Electric will complete the installation in accordance with applicable requirements and provide the necessary paperwork for rebate submission.
